What Is the Qur'an About?

The Qur'an, the last revealed word of God ( Last Testament ), is the primary source of every Muslim's faith and practice. It deals with all the subjects which concern about human beings: wisdom, doctrine, worship, transaction, law etc., but the main purpose of the revelation is provide guidelines, detailed teaching, clarify the previous scriptures and so on.

Note that the Qur'an was revealed to Muhammad p.b.u.h ( peace be upon him ) in Arabic only. So, any Qur'anic translation, either in English or in other language, is neither Qur'an, nor a version of the Qur'an, but rather it is only a translation of the meaning of the Qur'an. The Qur'an exists only in the Arabic in which it was revealed.

The Great Challenge to Produce One Chapter Like the Chapter of the Holy Qur'an

God has said in the Qur'an:

"And if you are in doubt about what We( singular - to show Godly expression ) have revealed ( the Qur'an ) to Our worshiper ( Muhammad p.b.u.h ), then produce a chapter like it, and call your witnesses ( supporter and helpers ) besides God if you are truthful. And if you do not do it, and you can never do it, then fear the Fire ( Hell ) whose fuel is men and stones. It has been prepared for disbelievers. And give good news ( O Muhammad p.b.u.h ) to those  who believe and do good deeds, that for them are Garden ( Paradise ) in which rivers flow underneath..." ( Qur'an, 2: 23-25 )

Ever since the Qur'an was revealed, fourteen  centuries ago, no one has been able to produce a single chapter like the chapters of the Qur'an in their beauty, eloquence, splendor, wise legistlation, true information, true prophecy, and other perfect attributes. Also, note that the smallest chapter in the the Qur'an ( Chapter 8 - Al-Kautsar ) is only ten words, yet no one has ever been able to meet this challange, then or today.

Some of disbelieving Arabs who were enemies of Muhammad p.b.u.h tried to meet this challenge to prove that Muhummad p.b.u.h was not a true prophet, but they failed to do so. This failure had despite the fact that the Qur'an was revealed in their own language and dialect and that the Arabs at the time of Muhammad p.b.u.h were a very eloquent people who used to compose beautiful and excellent poetry, still and appreciated today.
